Many telecom site power systems available in the market today typically have high failure rates – especially rectifiers – due to the use of indoor power components deployed in extreme outdoor environments; system contamination and tampering by poorly qualified maintenance personnel; and complicated installation and commissioning processes allowing for multiple errors. These systems simply aren’t fit for purpose.
eSite x10 has been developed to overcome all these issues and is the world’s first telecom site power rectification system that has been purpose-built from an individual component level and ruggedized to withstand operational challenges such as heat, humidity, sand, dust, electrical disturbance and accidental physical shocks – and all without the need for any on-going or on-site maintenance.
Maintenance-free sealed unit with no moving parts
eSite x10 is an IP65 sealed, ruggedized unit fully protected against the risk of damage from polluted outside air and tampering.
It uses passive convection cooling with no filters or moving parts (such as fans), that would require maintenance (omitted maintenance is a common source of system issues today). And eSite x10 uses patented protective semiconductor-controlled switching between the grid and connected gensets to replace mechanical ATS switching and thus protect the unit from potentially damaging input – one of the more common causes of rectifier failure at telecom sites. Electrical surges can occur with a wide range of peak voltage and peak duration which – unlike most typical power systems on the market – eSite x10 copes with very well.
Uptime secured and OPEX reduced
eSite x10 ‘s robust and reliable rectification system simplifies and secures continuous site power. This is vital in order to maintain 24/7 network uptime and optimise the overall power topology for the long-term delivery of a site’s OPEX reduction targets. For example, eSite can x10 significantly reduce genset run hours and fuel use at off-grid sites. At bad grid or good grid sites genset run hours and fuel use are further reduced by maximising energy harvesting from any available grid power. And at solar sites eSite x10 optimises the use of renewable energy. OPEX is further reduced through no required O&M rounds. The system uses passive convection cooling, meaning no energy is wasted on a powered cooling system even in cases when air-conditioning would otherwise be needed. And integrated support for solar power further saves diesel and prolongs battery life.
Sustained performance from data you can trust
With sensors built in to the unit and calibrated in the factory, eSite x10 ensures reliable data from the source. eSite x10 uses a substantial local data buffer to avoid any data loss. Uploaded data is stored in a secure and cost-efficient data cloud, where it can be accessed by eSite Tools for analysis and by web services (REST and SOAP) for smooth integration with other systems.
Easy to transport and install
With eSite x10, deployment planning is greatly simplified with a range of units that are preconfigured to handle any site types. All required systems are already included, making installation a simple and quick plug and play process. Power sources, batteries, and tenants are easily added in the connection compartment. And eSite x10 is compact and can be carried by hand, so transport to site, however remote, is a simple operation.
